Hello everyone! I've acquired a pretty neat painting dated around 1908 of Dean's Mill Park- a place apparently referred to as the Wolf's Den. In it, there are three African Americans and a white dog sitting on some rocks underneath a white sign nailed to a tree that reads "BLUFFS." Incidentally, it's the same scene pictured here: It is also seen here, in color: I would absolutely love to know where this might have been; I am conducting research at the moment on African-American communities that lived in the Connecticut Coastal area, and I know that in 1900 there were 141 African Americans in Mystic/Stonington, and in 1910 there were 154. I have more information to come, but for now, does this look familiar to anybody?

I think this is on Dean's Mill Rd. (which runs along the east side of the reservoir), just north of I-95, off to the right, set back a bit.
