For the current area, Google Maps does pretty well; I have some overlays and .kmz files which show specific spots. There are historic maps as well; I will try to post some, indeed it's worth having a "maps" section. One thing you might like is this web page, which lets you side-by-side compare aerial images from 1934 to now: magic.lib.uconn.edu/mash_up/1934.htmlIn brief, though, the "village" of Quiambaug seems to be the area of Wilcox Road, but also along Cove Rd. to the old church and schoolhouse, near Rathbun's farm.

I think this is on Dean's Mill Rd. (which runs along the east side of the reservoir), just north of I-95, off to the right, set back a bit.

Fascinating - I'd be interested in any references you might have, even vague ones. I know that field; had never heard about any possible buried items.
I think when we talked once you also mentioned a very early resident of the town, a tinker as I recall, that may have lived near Pequot Trail. I'd be interested in more info about him as well.

It will be more active; had trouble with spammers attacking different message board mechanisms. I hope this avoids that.

Thanks - I'll put in in place in a few days (likely over the weekend).
